The NEW Vision Tour

“The Christian Church is no longer in the majority. The question is how we might become an effectively activated minority?”

(From ‘In One Spirit’, by Dave Mann, published May 2019)

In 2019 Tony Collis and Dave Mann will be traveling nationally (one person to each location), as a representatives of the Shining Lights Trust, to invite a strategic discussion with city/town pastors’ groups on some things we can only do together in our nation.

The Shining Lights Trust Vision Tour, 2019

(1) A one-hour pastors’ group discussion on AREAS OF POSSIBLE COMMON FOCUS NATIONALLY amongst NZ churches

i. Intentionality in empowering and mobilising members conversationally as a first united strategy
ii. Engagement with public conversation, to affect perspectives, in ways that can only be enabled through our unity (Note Hope Project)
iii. Youth – What could be achieved nationally that might also be realistic for us each individually? (Note Godtalk.nz)
iv. Children – What could be achieve nationally that might also be realistic for us each individually? (Note OneMillionChildren.co.nz)
v.  …and the increasingly important role of city/town pastors’ groups in the face of continuing secularisation, and especially the removal of ‘Christian privilege’ (Note new book: “In One Spirit” by Dave Mann)
Confirmation of hosting is needed from city/town pastors’ group)

(2) A ‘One Million Children’ evening of encouragement with Tony Collis

Grow your church by growing your children’s ministry. An inspirational evening that will encourage and motivate, as part of an effort to inject fresh vision into children’s ministry nationally. Ideal for children’s workers and potential workers from throughout your region, and a must for church leaders.

Confirmation of a host church, who help promote this regionally, is needed)

NO QUEENSTOWN OR WANAKA MEETING THIS YEAR

The mandate for city pastors’ groups is surely to do things together that individual churches cannot accomplish alone, and the same limit would apply for any discussion on  what we might work on together as a collective of city/town pastors’ groups also!

A comment from Dave Mann regarding the necessary limit on what our SLT team might bring to a city/town pastors’ group for discussion.
