A united effort to keep the celebration of CHRIST in CHRISTmas

Imagine the lead-up to December 25th, where every New Zealander, from young to old, encounters nativity scenes woven into the fabric of their daily journey.

Hope Project Christmas aspires to make CHRIST the CENTREPIECE at Christmas by encouraging individuals to display NATIVITIES wherever they can.

WHY?

Over time, Christmas traditions have shifted, and nativities that once boldly showcased Christ’s central role have gradually disappeared from public view.

MAKE IT HAPPEN…

Wherever people go and whatever they do, the nativity makes Jesus the season’s centrepiece.

This simple idea will normalise nativities again in the public view, highlight Jesus’s significance at Christmas, influence negative perceptions, engage public curiosity, and inspire conversations.

As the Church of Aotearoa, we can shift culture and refocus on Christ.

Together, let’s use the simple NATIVITY imagery to bring Jesus back into view.

FOR PASTORS & CHURCH LEADERS

To have a nationwide impact, it depends on leaders to embrace and spread the simple vision that Hope Project Christmas represents amongst every member of their churches and other areas of influence.

We have ONE REQUEST – share the vision and promote these ideas with your church community. Spending just one minute over 2-3 Sundays in November and early December will help individuals see how their small contributions can make a significant impact.

New Plymouth — churches have combined previously to present CHRISTmas dramas and theatricals to thousands of school children – also in 2019 there was united effort with nativity stickers they created for many cars, plus window decal in many windows around the city.
Levin — the churches float was a multi-stage story — and won the competition in 2019 – for more CLICK HERE.
Tauranga — a ‘walk-through’ nativity theatrical called ‘The Road To Bethlehem’ is hosted annually at the SDA Church, with a dozen churches uniting in the effort. Also a Hikoi is organised by the central churches from church to church.
New Lynn, Auckland — a local church is invited back yearly by the Business Association for the Christmas Family event — they share what they’ve done CLICK HERE
